Position Overview

To assist the Production Manager in achieving functional goals.


+ Monitor Heat Set production flow and assist in the schedule of yarn throughout the plant

+ Provide direction for each supervisor within the department and provide them with the training and proper tools to do their jobs

+ Establish and maintain a sound preventive maintenance program for machinery in the Heat Set Department

+ Develop an audit system that identifies improvements and target areas that need improvement

+ Establish and maintain a system of cost controls within the department including: Safety, Absenteeism Turnover, Waste, Labor Cost, Maintenance, Repair Cost, Machine efficiency and Non-Conformances

+ Assist Management Team in maintaining the Customer/Supplier relationship

+ Assist in developing Process Specifications for all processes within the Heat Set Department and implementing them

+ Assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures for all jobs within the departments

+ Attend all meetings required to insure proper communication and continued improvement in department processes

+ Assist Quality Assurance Manager to correct Non-Conformances

+ Must respond to medical emergencies in the Plant/Workplace and render first aid assistance appropriate with their training level

+ Monitor checklists on steam /pressure gauges, and other quality critical checks

+ Order packing materials, machinery parts and other supplies as needed

+ Assure shipping and receiving warehouse is maintained according to requirements

+ Assure finished yarn meets customer requirements and is packaged and shipped according to requirements

+ Responsible for shipping activities, willing to attend Green Belt training & maintain a project, and must support safety committees

+ Required to understand technical requirements for TRB suessens, including software for Suessen touch screens and Gilbo winders

+ Bachelor's degree (engineering, management, or similar field) required

+ Knowledge of PeopleSoft Financial, Google Suite, ATLAS, Mainframe, Workday and MRM preferred

+ 2+ years management experience (Process Engineer, Supervisor or Department Manager) in a manufacturing environment

+ Passion and track record of achieving results

+ Proven ability to work collaboratively with all levels of associates

+ Proven ability to improve processes and cost reduction initiatives

+ Proven ability to establish/maintain/drive positive associate relations

+ Experience with continuous manufacturing processes
